Who is really responsible for our current political nightmare?
Right from the start, I would argue that Donald Trump is the most responsible figure, and this claim is well supported. It is Trump who has manipulated and rigged the entire political system to serve his personal interests. His selfish and childish behavior has undoubtedly fueled the chaos we see in our politics today.
However, there is another critical factor within our political system that plays an equally significant, if not more significant, role in shaping these turbulent developments. That trigger point is usually the Supreme Court and its various interpretations of laws passed by Congress and enacted by the President. In the years before Trump’s presidency, the Supreme Court generally operated smoothly in keeping our Presidents aligned with the Constitution.
However, with the Trump administration, especially during his current tenure, things have shifted considerably, with Chief Justice Roberts leading the way in Trump’s favor. I don’t know enough about how these processes work, but I would be willing to bet that something “rotten in Denmark” is going on in the workings of the Supreme Court, even considering Robert’s own political leanings and connections currently in Washington. Many of Robert’s rulings have been clearly and suspiciously in favor of Trump and his questionable political gambits. Keep an eye on this Roberts guy as events unfold.
